Blank Subform

Hi and thanks to anyone that reads this.
The problem:
I create a form from a table. It automatically inserts a subform from a linked table. Thats exactly what I want.
But when I go into design view as I have done so may times before to take one of the fields out of the subform the subform appears blank.

A white square with the table name at the bottom of the main form. I can select it and view the properties but I cant get to the fields.
This must be a basic mistake by me but Access has created it in the form.

If you are using Access 2007 you may need to ungroup the controls first.

I am not sure what you mean by 'ungroup the controls' first.
This has not happened to me before and I have made a few subforms in my time. They may have been simple ones though.

First question. Are you using A2007/A2011?

Sorry I am using 2007,
I have also noticed that there is no subform form which I normally get with a subform.
Does that make sence
