Hi Guys,

I'm having a problem with my Dell PE1900 Server filling up.

The C drive is a 20Gig parittion out of one of the 4 160Gig HDDs

Currently it looks like this

Program Files 8Gig
Doc & Set 3Gig
Windows 8Gig

The biggest folder that I can see when I run TreeSize:-

In Program Files:- Is SQL Server 3.8Gig , dont really wont to chop that about, the next largest is Kaspersky 2Gig, now that seems way too large??

In Windows is:- Installer 3.1Gig, which seems really large but I can't find it on the C drive tree? Whats the reason for not seeing it?
Any other ideas as to what might be filling up the C drive?

Thanks

Ted

The likely culprit is the WinSXS folder. You need to be able to give your Windows partition a large enough drive space to handle how that works.

See here for an explanation of it (this talks about Vista but it can fit with any of the post Windows 2000 OS's I believe):

you could look at your outlook message store, and maybe move that.

i subscribe to various RSS feeds, and they all go in the C drive, and I have to prune those out regularly.

also the temporary intenet files is probably enormous, too.

you could also delete any unused software.

With so many large drives, you really should look into making your Primary OS drive larger than 20 gb.
