Can Grow memo field lock up report

I have a report with a Memo field. The font size is Arial 10 on thie memo field and the Can Grow property is set to "yes". Most of the time this report formats just fine. But with one of the larger data return sets (query returns 88 records compared to usually 20) the report locks up. It says "Formatting Report" I get the hour glass, then nothing. I have let it sit up to 45 min and nothing happens. Then when I try to close out of MS Access it says "Program not responding".

When I shrunk the font down to Arial size 6 it previewed just fine. When I bumped this up to Arial size 7, it locked up again.

Has anyone run into this before, and do you have any work arounds for the problem?

If it works fine consistently with a small font, and the only thing you change
is increasing the font size, then something is wrong.

I'd do a Compact/Repair on the db. If it still behaved like that, I'd have
to assume that some VBA code was running.
