Can Grow Problem

I have a field (Notes) in a Grouped section (Jobnumber) which is a text box. The Property Can Grow and Can Shrink are both set to yes. This is for the text box and the Jobnumber section. The JobNumber section is also set to get new page before section.

We have just seen a case where the notes (Because they are large) has caused the report to goto 100cpu usage and Access to tell me it is formatting page, press Ctrl Break to stop.

Obviously setting the can grow to No fixes the problem.

Is there anything else I can do? Ie setting the can grow to a maximum size and truncating the data after that max size is reached??

I am curious to know what ideas you all have.

I think that you are confusing your computer, and its' trying like the devil to do want you want.

Your JobNumber Control should be the only Control in this JobNumber GroupSection.

Put your Notes Control in the DetailSection.

To help any more would require details as to what to are trying to do.

A strip of your database would help.
