Does anyone know if I can i make text go Vertical on a form??

I have looked at the menu's but I can't find any way of doing this.

David

The short answer... no.

If you are wanting a vertical label, you could make a label for each letter of your word, then stack the labels.

I don't think that was much help.
Good luck
Tom

In a label you can do a Shift-enter after every character to 'make' it go vertical.

Data entry is much more tricky i am affraid. For showing it -only- same as a label... If you want to edit it... hard, exept for making the field so thin that it seems vertical...

Thanks for the response,

I will give you ideas some thought.

But i really wanted, Vertical labels.

Hmm,

I will maybe have to re think my design.

This is what I've done in the past.

1) Type my text in MS Excel. Set the wrap text. Align the cell to show your text like

T
e
s
T

2) Copy the cell. (Ctrl+C)
3) Paste into Access Form. (Ctrl+V)

I don't have to do any shift enter tricks, can have more then one word on a line, etc.

Didnt think of trying that trick... I certainly will.... But have hardly ever needed this... Maybe for future reference... :)

Good one....

Edit: Tried it, it becommes an OLE object. I am not sure but am guessing it will take up more room than a label. It works but i dont know if i would be happy using this for the occasional vertical text....

Hi David,

Try this:

1. Select the text.
2. Properties --> Other (tab)
3. Vertical: Yes

The text will be displayed vertically. ie, from top to bottom. To read the text, you'll need to tilt your head to the right. :)

Thanks, Thats good,

I tried the Verticle Yes, and it works.

I notice that this is a new feature to Access 2000

My Works computer is still using 97.

In an ideal world I would have liked to have Leaned my head to the left instead of to the right.

But all is well, Thanks for the response
