Hello,

I have written an extensive Access DB Application for my company and have placed it on a cd for distribution. When we try to copy it from the CD to a folder on another machine the above mentioned error comes up. Any Suggestions. Jeff

Either it is a bad copy or the CD drive is defective. Try burning another copy and see what happens.

Hi RG, Its me again. I noticed the hard drive acting up. However I was also reading some stuff about the error message where there are a couple of service bullitins out for MS office which may solve the problem as well as a way of self packaging the jet database enging and data files so that it can be runtime on any machine. Ill firts try burning another disk and go from there. Thanks as always. Jeff

It is a hardware problem. The file from the CD cannot be read. I have several CDs where that happens, unfortunately.

What you should do is NOT to trust CDs. If it is precious work on them make more copies. Try known companies, I use Imation or Tayo Yuden.

For this case, try to read the CD from a CD-RW. They get better chances in reading the CDs. Maybe the same which burned it. In desperate cases you can try some materials like Wipe Out stuff - I still got some left I think - which did something but I think it made the CD permanent useless (I repeat I think, that after sometime it went completely unreadable, still it worked for a few weeks to get some stuff back).

Software solutions not very helpfull, that I know of
Cd/DVD Diagnostic (not available for free)
CDCheck (available for free)

That's all I know, I hope it helps...
