cant update when going to next record

Hi all,

Working on a dbase just now, main form has a subform that logs job numbers, this works fine except I need to update my main form in order to update the suborm, for eg. if I add a new record on the subform, either by the record selectors (which will be going) or my "new" button which basically does docmd.gotorecord acnew it DOES create a new record, but doesnt give it an ID (autonumber) until I go to the next record on the MAIN form, how could I resolve this and have it make the new record and give it an ID?

It sounds like you have your form/subform back to front. The subform is supposed to be the Many side of a One to Many relationship and it doesn't sound like you have your tables or form/subform set up that way. I think you need to look at your table structure as that would appear to be the problem.
