i am trying to find more information about charts and there doesn't seem to
be any. i searched the web and B&N. if anybody knows how i can learn more
about Charts in Acccess (Not excel) i would greatly appreciate it.

my problem:

i have tried to link the chart (parent/child) by clicking on the three-period icon on the properties/data tab so
that my chart will link to my data on a report (i also tried a form) and i
got an error: cannot link to unbound form (some wording like that). i tried
doing the same on the "sales by category" report in the northwind database
and i got the same error. whats goin on??? is it me???

if you have any good links that explain how to use excel charts with
access queries i would greatly appreciate it.

Done a few charts in Access and offer following advise.

Use queries to massage your data until it is in the final form that you want to chart.

Then use the chart wizard to produce the chart wwhich is now based on a results of a query with no groupinh or anything else.

You can still use parameters but the final query you use for the chart should be a simple select query.

The wizard will then produce a chart that you can then tinker with in terms of colours.

My experience says that whilst this may be a long way round it is far simpler in the end and far less prone to problems

Charts are not the best feature in Access
