Clear contents of a text box

I have a question regarding clearing the contents of a text box.

I know all I need to do is

Me.OrderDate = Null or
Me.OrderDate = ""

Is there a difference between the two? For example, in Excel I can "clear" a cell by pressing the spacebar but the cell is not really empty, it just has a space. Delete will actually clear the cell.
