What causes columns in a query to change the order in which they are displayed when you reopen the query. This happens occasionally and not isolated to one PC.

If you have multiple users working in a DB, one user can change the column order by selecting the column, then clicking and dragging it to another location. When the object is closed, it will ask the user if they Would like to change the layout and if they select Yes, then the next user will get the same layout. I have the same problem here. But, some threats of bodily harm seemed to clear the problem up. :p

We have 6 users using 4 different PCs on a network. They are not changing the order. Would there be any other possible reason like sorting and saving that could be causing ths to happen??

Sorting will not affect column order. What type of a query is this? A cross-tab, by chance? My analysts also told me they never change the column order until I caught one doing it ... As Sherlock says, "Remove all of the possiblities. Whatever is left is the truth." Columns don't just change on their own in regular select queries and tables.

Again, columns will not change order on their own in Select Queries. There is a user doing it.

PDX_Man, Thx for your help. I will look into the users more closely.
