Hello! Ive been learning Access over the last few weeks, and I getting much better, thanks to a lot of help from here!

I keep having this weird problme, which isnt too big of a deal, but its annoying... When I open an existing table, quite often the columns have shifted.. That is, for example the "date added" column is usually all the way to the right, when I re-open the file it may be on the left. Or FirstName and LastName reverse places...

Its a very weird problem and I dont know why its happening... Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

Allen,

Do you/anyone move the columns when viewing data?

When the table is closed, Respond No when it asks if you want to save the
changes. The DATA will be saved, just not the "new" order of the fields.

hmm... no, i am only person accessing files... The only time I move columns is to put them somewhere where I want them to permanently be... such as when I open file and have to move them back to the right places...

Allen,

The only other thing I can think of is altering their in the table's Design View.

Hey Wayne,

Thanks... does the structure in design view determine where they appear in regular view? Maybe thats it... I'll try...

Noticed your tagline... you play much pool?

Ever been to the Super Billiards Expo in Valley Forge, PA? (www.superbilliardsexpo.com)

Thanks again!
