Colunmed Subreport: Does Anyone Really Know

Has anyone successfully made a subreport that has multiple pages of columnar data? I've had replies that I have been grateful for, but have done me little or no good.

I have a double column phone list that is 3 pages. I want to insert this into a report that has a first page header and a repeated footer for each page. I've been trying on and off for weeks and have gotten no where. Please! Someone tell me if you have ever done this and/or if it can be done.

I'm not sure, but it sounds exactly like what I'm trying to do (I want the report header not to be broken into columns) - I never thought of setting up the body as a subreport - I'll give it a try and let you know.
