combining data for grouping levels (1 Viewer)

A97 - I am currently grouping my report by a field named "project Number". The project numbers entered into the table consist of the actual project number and the revision, for example 1234-987 would be project 1234 rev 987. Can I have the report look at only the first 4 characters of this field so that I can group all of project 1234 reguardless of rev.? Thanks

If you look at the sorting and grouping options, you'll see "group on" which you need to change to "prefix characters" and "group interval" which in your case, you want to change to 4 to group by the first 4 characters.
