Combo Box - please help me

I use a Combo Box in Form1 to select a Record and then automatically open Form2 based on the data in the Combo on Form 1. This is a one to many relationship. (Form1 is the One Side of the relationship).

My problem is, if there are no corresponding "many" records, it presents me with a blank record.

Is there a way to have a message pop up to say something like "There are no Records" and a Command Button on the Message Box to "Add Record" AND also make sure that the relationship is kept ie that the Key Field in Form1 is populated on the New Record.

I've asked this before, but in a clumsy way maybe.

Why not use a subform for the many?
