Communications failure
Hi all, a bit of a strange one this.
I have a table directly linked in via ODBC from a AS/400 DB and I can actually open and view the data from that table, I can also create a basic select statement on the fields I am really interested in and view the results without problem however if I want to do a make table query or use criteria to select just a few records it errors up stating there is a communications failure "[IBM][client Access express ODBC Driver (32-bit) communication link failure".
Speaking to the AS/400 guru here he informed me that the As400 DB may not understand the same SQL language as Access. That being the case does anyone know of a way around this ? Ideally I would like to limit the data with a select query then use make table to create a new table locally and use it from there.
Any ideas ?
