I encountered a strange issue this morning and I'm wondering if others have seen the same and what they have done about it. The short version is that I am using VBA to re-format an Excel file from Access. We recently replaced some computers in the office and the new units are failing when they try to run the procedure. I have a feeling it is related to the Microsoft Compatability Pack missing from the new units but I am not sure. When I debug the error it stops on this line -

Code:
Set xlWSh = ApXL.Workbooks.Open(strPath).Sheets(1)

I've tried a couple of variations of the line and it works on the older units but not the new ones (btw - ALL of the new units have this problem). So, has anyone encountered a similar problem and what did you do to correct it?

THNX!

The first thing I would check would be the "References". In your VBA window, select Tools and then References and see if you see any that are flagged as "Missing". If so, this will tell you what may be missing from the new machines. You may simply be able to select the correct reference for the current compatable version.

Well, in checking the references, both the old and new computers have the same things listed so I don't think that is it. I did install the Compatability Pack on one unit and try again but did not have any luck. I guess I'm back to the begining wondering what is missing...
