Control Source

I have created a new field in a Form and named the Control Source "Active". However, when I vew in Form View there is a "0" in the field and it also does not allow me to type anything in the field.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does such an Data Source Exist called "Active", you did you just make it up?

I keep track of which employees are active so I have the word "active" then a blank field, the latter of which my question applies to.

Sorry I may be missing something. I am definately not as smart as some of the other posters here, so their input is more than welcome to correct me.

Is your form bound to a table, and does that table have a field called Active?

As far as I know, you can not give control to a field that is not bound. By typing in "Active" within the control source for the text field that you place and having no field from the table to bind it too will give you an error.
