I am trying to convert a access 97 db to 2000. When I try to do this, during the process I get a message 'The Visual Basic for applications project in the data base is currupt', then after clicking OK, a messsge appears 'File not found'.

Can anyone advise me why this is happening, and how to correct this!

I have been able to convert another data base, so it appears that it is not a software issue!!!!!!

Thanks in advance...........

What I would try

Make as many copies as you can bear to do. You can NEVER have too much back up! Don't overwrite earlier backups (just in case).

Compile your code in A97 (in any module Tools, Compile and Save). If no errors are reported try again to convert.

Try Repair.

Try JetComp.

In the case of failure try opening the A97 prog from the Start button using Run and typing MSACCESS.EXE /Decompile and selecting the relevant MDB to open.

The decompile removes old stuff and might just solve your problem. You'll need to Compile and Save again afterwards.

Try importing everything into a new, empty database.

Go down the Pub! (This won't solve the problem but will cheer you up ...)
