I am using Access 2010 currently and having no problem opening Access .mdb databases all the way back to those created in Access 2000. We are switching to Access 2016 (in the Enterprise E3 version of Office 365) and I have heard that this version only opens .accdb format databases. If true how can I convert .mdb to .accdb? I tried doing a 'Save As' but the option to specify a .accdb is missing... any help much appreciated!

Access 2016 CAN open MDB files and it CAN convert them to ACCDB.
File ... Save As ...Save Database As ... ACCDB

However you MAY get errors during the conversion process.
However that can also happen converting using A2010

if you are using 2010 to open a .mdb, you should be seeing this. Note you cannot update a .mde

Actually I'm missing much of what should be on my screen. The areas for 'File Types', 'Save Database As', 'Publish', and 'Package and Distribute', all are missing.

suggest send a screenshot similar to the one I provided. Also, confirm you have a .mdb and not a .mde
