Converting from 97 to XP

We will be converting from 97 to XP next month. We have several database which are split. Does anyone know if it matters if the front or backend database is converted first?

you dont even have to convert the back end as the front end only links to the tables. but if you are converting both then i would back them all up and then convert the back end 1st.

Hi asnyder,

My sugestion :

If you trying to convert the existing DB 97 both Front and Back End. then you make sure that no anybody using the back end by DB97, because if their using DB97 then their can't open the DB XP.

but if you want to convert the front end DB97 then convert it after that try to make are link back from the existing DB97 at least DB 97 can running as a back end DB.
