Hello,

Did Google search for the query but didn't find an accurate solution. Hence, posting in this community.

I have a table in MS Access naming "Salutation" and in the table I have 6 columns and each column named as Week No., Carry Forward records, new records, total records, processed records and pending records. Like below

Week No. Carry Forward records new records total processed pending
1 0 10 10 5 5
2 5 10 15 7 8
3 8 20 28 9 19

So now the requirement is every day pending records should get updated in the next row with in the same table under carry forward records of its next immediate day. For e.g. pending records of week number 1 which is 5 should get updated under carry forward records for week number 2 and so on.

Requesting advice for the above mentioned query.

Many thanks in advance.

Rakesh

For what you've described, I'd use a spreadsheet with a formula in the CarryForward cell set to equal the previous week's pending.

Hi,

Well actually u r right in using of a spread sheet but lately we have got our projects increased from 2 to 39 and its really getting painful in managing all the spreadsheets at one time and then the real.trouble comes.while maintaining the reports.

Therefore we decided to get it done in Ms Access. Requesting if u could help me in doing this.

Regards,
Rakesh

Well ur very correct pat but as u know in corporates we are not the decesion maker in fact we are just decesion followers. Hence, no offence but I myself in a deep situation at present. Therefore really scratching how to get this done.
So far I have got this thing manually operation able but just thinking how to get this thing automated (carry forward option). And if get this thing done then for sure my life is safe for the time being.

If you want to persist following one recommendation and one warning not to use Access, post your manually working database and I may make a suggestion how to undertake your update process.
