Count of by year???

i have a table that captures data of training carried out on a specific date, ranging from 1997 to 2004.

the data is captured in the table in the following way:

Employee ID
training recieved - (indicates what training the employee recieved)
Date - (in the format DD/MM/YYY)

i now need to calculate the number of training activities that have happened in each year, i need this to be displayed like :

Year - Activities
1997 - 13
1998 - 27
1999 - 33
2000 - 71

etc....

how should i do this please

Set up a query that extracts the ID and date from your table. Add a calculated field that extracts the year using Year() and add a count to that field. This will give you events by Employee by year. If you want the count overall, omit the employee ID from the query.

The query should work, dont know why it doesnt

It doesn't work for me either, but I didn't think that the sample matched the question, so I left it alone!

How weird - I'm sure it worked before I uploaded it

Neileg the sample was pretty much exactly what you suggested

By making the ID the primary key field in the table, you limited the data to one instance per ID. That's not what I think is required.

I didn't mean to offend!
