Hello,

My name is Josh, I am a novice user and i have been asked to create a database for my construction company. We currently use excel but I would like to set up a system with access as I feel it will be better suited for my needs. I will try to explain my situation as best as possible.

I have tried to read several forums and watch youtube videos but i cannot specifically find what i am stuck with on my database, so figured, it would just be best to ask.

Anyway here goes;

The following tables are the ones involved in my problem.

tblCustomer
tblOrders
tblOrderDetails
tblProducts
tblServices

All i would like to do is add an order to a customer that has already been entered into the data base. I created an order form which contains fields from all of the above tables. However, the problem i have come across is i cannot seem to create a form with separate sub-forms for the tables products and services.

All i want to do be able to do is to create an order for a Customer(who's details have already been stored in customer table) for both products and then the services required for a job.

I am aware there is a web-based template for this which is easily edited. However this does not suite my needs at present and therefore i must do this without using the template.

I can only assume this will seem straight forward to someone who knows what they are doing. I have tried many times now and keep ending up with a order form of chaos.

I have attached the file to help if my explanations isn't enough help . Also you can view my relationships. I am pretty sure i have all the necessary tables and relationships in place for this to be a straight forward task. However my skills somewhat lack and i need some help.

Any advice what so ever would be really greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards,

Josh Bradley
