Creating Shortcut

I created a shortcut icon on my computer to access an Access dB that's located on the company server. The Access db opened, but immediately froze and wasn't able to do anything (not responding). Any suggestions as to why this happened and how to fix it?

how long did you wait to see if it stayed frozen? a lot of access front ends are tied to a backend server, and if they arnt able to connect it takes a specifed number of seconds before it gives you an timeout error, maybe that is what is happening here?
