Hi again. I just posted something similar, but after some work, this may not have been what I needed.
http://www.access-programmers.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=261158

Please see database I uploaded.
I have a form, "frmBlotter" and am using "tblBlotter" as a subform.
My ultimate goal is to have the subform tblBlotter record information appear in the controls of my main form, frmBlotter, by selecting the individual records in the subform... But I do not want the subform editable this way if possible.

I also want to be able to click "btnNew" and be able to reverse the process by adding a record to the subform (tblBlotter) which is the actual table where data is stored.

Then I just need the subform to refresh after clicking Save so the new record shows. Similarly, prompt to save a record if you move off the main form without saving.

Didn't seem so complicated when I started. I was also previously using a query instead of tblBlotter until I realized it wouldnt let me add to it.. I'm probably going about this backwards. Please help

(I was able to accomplish the first part in the post listed above above)
