Ok, is there something im doing wrong here?
I enter all my data into my forms and it works... but when i close the form and go to open it again the data isnt there anymore. it goes to the next autonumber file number and if i open the table the info is stored there but the form wont let me go back and forth... what am i doing wrong here?

Form properties - Data entry is possibly set to True.

uh where would i find that information at?
its not when i right click on the form and goto properties...well at least from what i can see

Make sure you're in the Form properties, not an individual control/area of the form. Select Form from the dropdown in the top left corner of the screen, or click the grey square in the top left of your form. A black box should appear in it and your Properties window will change to Form-level properties.

Also if you are opening a form from a switchboard/button, make sure the code to open it there doesn't specify it being Data Entry. It sounds like you're opening directly from the Database WIndow though, so this is unlikely.

it doesnt matter how i open it...
it opens the same way and im not too happy either way... it doesnt let me do what i want

You guys are the bomb... i set data entry to no and it fixed it... gosh i cant seem to ever stump you guys
