Database compact and repair - automation

Hi all,

Is there any way that Compacting and Repairing the Database can be automated? I tried to add this to a macro attached to an Exit button, but MS Access 2002 says it can't be done. I don't want the users to have to do this maintenance, but I won't be available to do it.

Hi,

You can get access to automatically compact and repair after the database is closed, to do this go into the tools option and select the "General" tab, down the left side just above a button named "Web Options" you will see a check box titled "compact on close", check this box and everytime the database is closed it will automatically Compact and repair.
