Database Corruption

I was saving a record and a popup came up and said others were changing the same info which i don't believe actually happened, since only me and other guy actually use it and he was gone. Either way it asked if I wanted to drop the changes and I believe i pressed save changes. On doing that several of the text boxes changed to Chinese symbols, and i am unable to change them or delete the record entirely.

I get an error when trying to delete the symbols that says "Search key was not found in any record." I'm thinking this is because when I try to update it the auto number I am using got corrupted as well and is some huge number instead of being in sequence.

Also I have hyperlinks in the record and when I roll over them I get an error saying that multiple people are attempting to edit that record.

Any one have any ideas, what caused this and perhaps a way to fix and prevent this from happening again.

Make a copy of the database and then do a compact and repair and then you should be able to go into the table and delete the record. You'll have to delete the record as you won't be able to recover it. So, make sure you know what it is so you can reenter it.
