Does anyone no of a way I can inset a datasheet subform into a form without have the field headings shown? or even a way of something similar. The main form I have designed has the required heading split into Days and times with the datasheet below matched up with the headings. The problem is the field headings showing between the custom headings and the datasheet grid.

Any ideas?

If I wanted to do this, I'd use the Forms Wizard to make my form to be used
  1. as the subform.
  2. Select your source
  3. Move your fields over
  4. Under "Layout" Choose "Tabular." This gives you a continuous form
  5. Finish

This will give you a form similar to a Datasheet View. In Design View, delete the column headings it generated (which you can't do in Datasheet View) and do away with the header setting. You can move the fields on the form closer together to give you a more "datasheet" type look, if you like, but I actually prefer the Continuous View look myself. The other advantage is that you can do formatting which isn't possible with the Datasheet View.

Good Luck!

Many thanks just what I needed, look at that way earlier but didn't seem to be able to add extra records for some reason.:)

Being able to add/not add records has nothing to do with form view type, but rather involves how the underlying query is set up or how the form's properties are set. Just as a note, I saw a thread the other day where a poster had a form set up as a subform, opened the form separately and changed properties, but when he reopened his form/subform the changes weren't reflected in the subform. He had to delete the subform then re-create it, then the changes showed up!

Thanks again.

The form is now working fine and is just what I need. Lots of late night ahead code writting now to finish off the background calculations etc.:)
