Hi,
I am developing a database of volunteer drivers who are committed to a scheduled "duty" a fortnight. Because they are volunteers there availabiltiy can alter quite regularly.
Put the case that Fred Bloggs identified that he will be unavailable from 11/10/09 to 14/10/09, again on 24/10/09 (ie one day only) and again 21/11/09 to 18/12/09. Other drivers may have idenfied other ranges.
Currently I use an Excell spreadsheet with the drivers' names in column A and the cells horizontally for that driver for the relevant dates across the sheet. The net result is effectively a grid of "un-highlighted" cells of dates availavble for all drivers that can cover for Fred.
I have tried using the graph tool in Access with a column of From and To dates in the form and have also tried embedding an Excell spread sheet into the form - alas, neither to much satisfaction.
So, is there a way of generating a graphic representation of this data in the form of a From date, number of actual days absence and a To date in Access that will identify all drivers as a tool to select from when making up a weekly "roster".
Hope that makes some sort of sense with someone out there who is far better than I at it.
Helped very well in the past
