Date Sorting

I have a really simple report that I want to have the items sorted in descending order.When I change the "sort", it prints the dates 6/9/16 before 6/15/16.

Any ideas?

Yes, you aren't working with dates.

Your "dates" are in fact strings. If you want to treat them as dates, you need to store them as such. What's the underlying data type in the field that holds them?
