DateDiff - Pass record/variable as interval

I tried searching around for a bit, so I apologize if this is a redundant question. I am curious if for the datediff function if the interval argument can be passed from a variable or a record out of table?

Apparently, it can be; I just tried it in a query and it worked fine.
