DB Ballooning in size!

Hey guys,

I'm not sure what happened, but my database size has gone from about 60MB to 290MB. I have added about 10 new records and had an AuditTrail function keeping track of history. I had problems with too many entries in this field, so I deleted the field and started fresh. I have also tried to compact and repair the database. Can anyone give me some light on this situation?

when ever you edit an object in design mode say a form or report etc, the db will always increase in size, and it is good practice to compact your db regularly throughout the development phase. You state that you tried to compact. Did it fail for some reason.
When you delete anything it is marked for deletion but not removed until you compact. Try creating a blank db and import from your previous db, that always recovers space, but before you do the import ensure that access does not create default indexes (tools/Option/Tables/Auto Index).

Also if you are using Record Level Locking this can also bloat the database. But agian if you compact the db on close that should take care of the problem.
