Hi,

I am looking for a function which is able to find a special character in my field and delete everything behind it. Or load the characters before that special character. For example I have a name and surname in one field and I want to load just the first name.

1. You should store the names in separate fields. It is easier to put them together when you need them than to pull them apart.

2. something like this as a new field in a query:

FirstName:Left([FieldNameHere], Instr(1, [Fieldnamehere], " ") - 1)
