Design In-Line Function ??

Hi everybody , can someone explain to me what Design In-Line Function is all about.
And Should I be using this Design In-Line Function instead of Design View in queries.

I am working with access 2002 / SQL Server 203

I am trying to Develop a software program for my business. Had some help but ran out of money for this project. So I decided to do it my self.

When I create a table with a number of data types, then I save it. ( Customer Tables )
Then I go to query to New – then ( Design In-Line Function ) - ( Design View. )
Then Save And Name it ( Customer Query )
Then I will go to forms then go to New ( Design View ) Then Save And Name it ( Customer Forms )
