I've got a bit of a problem with splash screens at the moment.

I finally managed to create a start-up form which has a timer event opening a menu form and this works perfectly. I then decided to look at how to disable the Access splash screen and after reading through quite a few posts, found the answer : Tools>Options>View and the check box for startup dialog box.

The only problem is that my db still flashes this damn thing before it opens even though I've un-checked this box.

I then thought that I would make a small splash screen of my own and have placed it in the same directory as the db with the same name etc, and that doesn't work either, it still flashes th Access one.

So as you can imagine, I'm a bit confused.

Anyone have any ideas of what to try next...?

Yes it is, but really I'd prefer not to have one at all....

An idea I once read by dcx693 is to use a 1x1 bmp.

Thus will appear as no image as required.

Yeah well I was going to do that anyway if there was no solution to it, but I also had the problem that I mentioned in my earlier post that I had a .bmp with the same name and in the same directory as my db and I was still getting the Access one....

...however, today it seems to be working so ...

computers are strange!

thanks anyway

Darrell, silly question, but you are double-clicking the mdb file to open it, right? You're not starting up Access then opening your mdb file are you?

:)
yes, I am opening it from a shortcut.

I just figure that my PC (or maybe the whole network) must be possessed and so I have given up worrying about it for the time being.

Strange, I guess try the usual compact and repair drill and see if that does anything.
