I'm going to read a finite number of rows from a table. I'd like to display them horizontally across a form as follows:

Field 1 Field 1 Field 1 Field 1
Field 2 Field 2 Field 2 Field 2
Field 3 Field 3 Field 3 Field 3

Is this possible with out a real hack job?

The code form is what it's probably gonna amount to. It's actually 16 rows across, which would be ugly with sub-forms. A 16-join query is another possibility, if that's within Access's boundaries, but that's ugly, too.

This seems to be a recurring difficulty, both in forms and reports. I'm in the process now of coming up with the coding for one of these grids myself, compunded by the fact that the number and criteria of the "columns" will vary every time the report is printed...

Pat, being the wisest of Access gurus I know, I'll ask you: is there no "easier" way to do this? Cross-tab queries work in some cases, but not enough. Wht's your "standard" solution for this particular too-common task?

Thanks, Pat. This kind of answer is the main reason I love this forum.
