I am having a problem importing files. The original file is on a shared drive. The only thing I do, is import the file to access and run some queries.
First I import the file manually, to set up the specs and create any queries I need. Then I create a macro that runs the import and the queries, and then I convert the macro to a module to add error handling and any renaming of files.
This is where the problem comes in, it starts at the macro level. When I run the macro the data dissapears from the original location. I thought i was seeing things. But I would go look at the original file and all there is, is a blank page. I did notice when I tried to drag and drop a file to the shared drive that I got an error message that said I could not overwrite the original file. I also got this message when i tried drag and drop to my C drive. So, I converted the macro to a module and renamed the file before the import. I still lost the original data. I don't know what else to do.
