I am trying to print out documentation of a database using th Access 2000 documenter. BUt for some reason it's not showing the NAME of the query?? It shows it for the first query, then not for the rest AND when I print it out it doesn't even show up on the printout?!?!

I am still haveing this problem only now it's doing it for reports!!
Please help!

I have 100 queries and and having trouble keeping track of what does what and which ones are used as a record source for the 20 or so reports I have!!

I always see the query name in the page header, on the left hand side. Even if I have every option turned off in the Options ... under the Documentor.

What is in the header on yours?

I will look into this further and get back.

On the first page in the upper left hand corner, I see the names of first report selected. On the remaining pages I get the file path of the database!

What I am trying to do is to make sense of the 100 queries and 21 reports. I want to find out which query is used by which report and if there are any redundant queries that I can delete. Maybe I can add some fields to a query and reuse for other queries that may be using multiple queries.

When selecting the Documentor, a box comes up listing all of your objects in the Database. I am assuming that you are selecting all of your Reports. On the right-hand side is a group of buttons where the last one is Options .... Select this and make sure the Properties check box is selected. Remove the others and in the bottom, Include for Sections and Controls, select None.

The report that follows will have the Report Properties listed for each report on its own page. You will see a Recordset property. Listed here is the underlying data source and what I think you are looking for.

pdx_man,

Thank you for replying but that is exactly what I did the first time. I can't understand why I get the file path instead of the report name for the remaining reports.

Anyone else out that have this problem?

I've been out looking at the MS support sire and all they talk about are things related to secured databases and the like. Is your DB set up like this? Have you tried doing this on another DB? Perhaps create a dummy DB with report objects and doing the same.

You may have to re-install Access and try this again. That is about all that I can come up with.

FYI, when doing this on my machine, the first page does not include the DB path, but does include the report name. All subsequent pages include both, the DB path and report name.

I figured it out!!! My file path was so long that the documenter couldn't show the name of the reports and queries!! SHEESH!

:p
