Duplicate Data (1 Viewer)

I have made up a database for my work with regards to where our employees park. We have over 1300 hundred employees and when we input the data into the Access program there is no way to tell if we are putting in duplicate data.

Is there a way to have the program search the data input before update. So that we can eliminate duplicate records? I would like to set up the database so that when the operator puts the employees badge # in it would automatically search the badge field to see if that employee is already in the computer and then to call that record up on the screen.

Any help that you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

An appropriate primary key, such as badge number, would prevent Access from adding duplicates. If ParkingSpaceID is also unique (or unique within shift code) you could also add a unique index on that as an additional check.
