e-mail report based on supplier

hi,

I have a report that creates purchase orders, this could be many suppliers
these suppliers have e-mail addresses

is it possible to get the report to look at the supplier name , find the e-mail for that supplier and send it to them

Steve,

You could place functionality in one of the events of the report to email your purchase orders but that really doesn't sound the best place for it.

Presuming that you have a purchase order table, you need a flag or better a date, so you can record that the email has been sent and when. I would separate this from the report printing as you may want to reprint the POs without emailing. That is if you need to print the POs at all? You could have your process email them to an email address of your own to save the sent orders....

If you have Outlook, you can find VBA code to send emails (with attachments) using the Outlook object model.
