Thanks for looking and trying to help me. See attached picture of a database I made for my dad.

When my dad changes customer or vehicle data, I need it to automatically update the lists in the search boxes at the bottom.

The lines I've been working along are:

1. I think its the Requery function I need to use. Something like:

Combo25.Requery

2. I have managed to get it to requery the Search by Name combo box using the AfterUpdate command on the main form.

The problem is, when I try to specify an AfterUpdate on the subform, it can't find the combo box. I think this is because its on the main form!

If my deductions are correct, how do I get it to update the search by reg combo box on the main form after I have changed data in the subform?

Many thanks in anticipation of the answer.

You will need to tell Access to requery the mainform and not the subform so rather than using
Code:
comboboxname.requery
, you will need to use
Code:
Forms!Nameof MainForm!Comboboxname.requery

Many thanks works perfectly!

Now, is it possible for the program to omit the word "Deleted" from the lists?

Any help on this is again much appreciated

Might need something similar

Hi I was wondering what is the purpose of the database and could you send it to me? I could give u an Gmail Invite for your help.

Hi there,

The purpose is simply to record invoice numbers. When a car comes into the garage my dad can look it up easily (by the name of the owner or the reg of the car) and see which invoices pertain to it. He has "hard copies" of his invoices stored in numerical order, so he can find the appropriate invoice quickly and see what work was done to the car.

With reference to sending it on, I made this for my dad's use only and I don't want it to go into the Public Domain. However, If you are trying to put together something similar, I will help you all I can.

BTW I am curious as to what a "Gmail" is? (Sorry if this sounds facetious but I'm assuming its not a typo)
