I'm trying to get an embedded macro to open a form when the field is clicked. I would think this would be pretty straightforward, but apparently not. The control is a combo box and the onclick event is set for embedded macro. The macro calls OpenForm with the arguments of Reports, From,,,,Normal. I'm not even ask for anything fancy. Just want the form to open. Do you think it might be a problem because I'm trying to open it off a combo box?

A combobox on click event?

What is it that you actually want to fire the event, someone clicking on the combobox or someone selecting an option from the dropdown box?

:edit:

If you want the selection change to fire it then change or after update should do the trick.

If it's really on physically clicking the field for the first time you could easily cheat and put a transparent command button over the top then have that fiire the code. The VBA behind the button could also set the focus on the combobox underneath the button and open the dropdown list too so it acts like a normal combobox (except the mouse cursor is a normal cursor on a combobutton not a text-entry cursor as it would be when aiming at a combobox).
