Error Message - 'MS JET DB Engine cannot open the file...

Not sure if this is where I should be asking this question...

Currently a MS ACCESS2000 database project is replicated and kept on the network (Windows2000). The department just got new computers with WindowsXP and when trying to access the database project they get an error 'MS JET DB Engine cannot open the file...It is already opened and exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view its data'...
Can any point me in the right direction or help me solve this problem? I sure would appreciate it. Thanks!

Have you tried to do a COMPACT AND REPAIR on the database?

Are the permissions set correctly so that everybody that needs to open the db can add/modify/delete files in the directory that the db is located? Everybody has to be able to create/modify/delete the record locking [*.ldb] file.
