right, what to say.
a kiwi living in Australia, got here ver Thailand Laos china and Russia. long story.
back in the days of my early 20s and totally frustrated with the old guys who were married to there aircon box containing the GOD of computing a WANG.
while struggling with an 8086 and Lotus 123.
a revolution came, the 86 chip and soon after the windows 31.1 add on with networking.
my first network was justified, because two accountants were arguing over one printer. Hay a few cards and a bit of wire was cheaper than a new HP4.
next came office 4.2 and access for free.
initially i hated excel having been using 123 for so long, but the transition only took a year or so as excel progressed.
in-short the WANG guys were constantly trying to run reports for operations. being basically a customer service accounting system it didn't work for anyone. more so it didn't work for me.
as part of the corporate Microsoft deal, the company was given training courses. so i took the lot.
access provided a lot of advantages over a spreed sheet. thus the conversion was complete.
a few decades latter and having done other things i am back using access. worse that that i am trying to st up access for other people and struggling. so much has changed. things that i thought were simple i am now having trouble with. hence joining this forum.
