extending a line so that it is straight

Hi,

I continually get frustrated whenever I chose the landscape option of a report. Often there are lines separating the headers and footers. With the wizard the lines are not extended across the full length of the landscape page. I can grab them manually and pull them across the page, but 90% of the time the won't go in a straight line and I end up wasting time trying to get them straight. Can anyone suggest how I might be able to avoid this problem?

Thanks.

Two answers,

1. Use the properties and set the size using measurements.

2. Select the line, hold down the shift key and press the arrow key in the direction you want to size it. Left makes the line smaller and right makes it bigger.

Thanks so much.

This will save me so much frustration.

Just curious though... in the properties it refers to line slant and shows either / or \ even for a straight line. Does it matter which one you choose? I just changed the length and got my straight line.

You use the LineSlant property to specify whether a line control slants from upper left to lower right or from upper right to lower left.

capri,

one other trick, when you are drawing a new line holding down the shift key while you move the mouse will constrain the line in the movement direction (vertical or horizontal) ,resulting in a prefectly straight line.

think you probably now know more about lines than you want to.
