Field size

I have a query that consists of three fields. This query is then placed in a form. I would like to set the physical length of my fields because one field consists of 4 digit numbers (I want the size of this to be relatively small) and the other two field consist of categories (field that need more space so that the user may see each letter of the category) Please help.

It may just be me but, I don't really know what you are asking. Could you try to explain your problem a little better. Unsure if you wish to limmit the caracters allowed in a field or increase them. Or is it jus the you wist to display more (or less).
Perhaps a screen shot of what you already have would clear the waters?

I believe he wants the fields on the form to auto increase/decrease to fit the largest query entry. This features is used on Excel spreadsheets if you click on a column dividing line. It auto sizes the column to fit the largest entry in that column.
