I have financial table which contains list of End of year revenue titles. Since this combo box was suppose to be part of the master table so I made a joint query. Now there is one problem arising. Table and query and even the form is working fine. But in that combo list there are several titles and 3 of them are Assets, Liabilities and Equity. Equity has to be equal to Assets-Liabilities. And the values are being fed into Borrower In house column. I tried everything, but for some reason its not working for me. It wont subtract the values. Any suggestions. I hope I didn't confuse you guys. Thanx in adv.

Which column is your Bound Column? Is it set to the column that contains the Equity calculation?

Bound column is combo box and how can i set it up with the column that is holding equity calculation. I tried through query. Query is actually giving me the exact value. But now my problem is I can't joined the field which is part of the table with the query(which gives the equity value).

Bound column is combo box

Which column of the combobox? Look at your combobox's properties - never mind the query.

I think we are of the understanding that your combo box has at least 3 columns, Assets, Liabilities and Equity in which case you would need to have the Bound Column be the column number where Equity is, but, your last post indicates that is not true, so ...

I'm confused.

Oh, I am really sorry about that. No thats not what I meant to say. Okay I have a combo box and its only one column combo box, the fields in the drop down are Assets, Liabilities and Equity. I want Liabilities to be subtracted from Assets so the Answer would automatically enter in with Equity field. As for the columns I have 3 other columns and they are Borrower in the house2000, 2001, 2002. Since, End of the year contains the drop down menu and text, the values are being input in Borrower in the house columns. I hope I made some sense here. And you can comprehend my query.

Sorry abt that though!

so no help :(

Hey, ya gotta let me have my weekends! :D

Anyway, can you post a scaled down version of your DB. This just isn't coming through in my head.

wannabepro,

your combo box should come with no more than 2 values being Asset and Liability.

Equity is what’s left over. It is your net worth.
You shouldn't be entering your equities manually, it doesn't make sense nor is it good accounting practice.
You should use a query to calculate your equities and use a report to show your balances.

As for your info on the three other columns:

3 other columns and they are Borrower in the house2000, 2001, 2002

I really do not understand what you're trying to tell us.
Please clarify.
What I do suspect is that your database is not normalized properly.
Upload your database, stripped, compacted and zipped, in either Access2000 or 97 format.

RV thats what I am trying to do, forget about the Borrower in house, they are actually column, that are holding values of Assets, Liabilities, and Equity from 3 different years. Right now the main issue is equity; I have to have a query that will produce the value of equity. I am attaching my db, you can look at Final Stages form, their is subform name Final Stages subform. I kind of got the query working. But, now Its giving me same ans for all the records as first record. So, I del that, I am still trying to figure it out on my own. But I know you guys are pro at this, so I am desperate for your help.

pdx man weekend is over, now plz help me out *puppy face*
