Fields Disappearing + Can't Update on a Sub-Form

Hi all,

I have a problem with 2 sub-forms out of 3 on my main form. All of the sub-forms are linked to a unique ID on my main form to show specific info.

The problem is when I am trying to create new data entry; the fields on two of the sub-forms disappear.

Also, while looking at existing records I can see the fields on the two sub-forms, but I can’t update what on these fields.

I have no problem with the third sub-form, I can update and create new data entry, it is working fine, but I don’t know what wrong with the other sub-forms. I tried matching the properties of the forms and still no use.

Does any one have any idea of what going on here !!

Thanks, and looking forward to hearing from you

Do you have any code running on the main or subforms?

What does your underlying table structure look like? Are the subforms tied to a table that forms the many side of a relationship to a corresponding record in the main form's recordset?

If possible, could you post your DB with any sensitive data removed?

There is some code running behind the main form, but it only to fine a record “Search engine”. Non of the code behind related to any sub-form.

and yes jzwp22, each sub-form is tied to a table that forms the many side of a relationship to a corresponding record in the main form's recordset.

This is one of those hard to diagnose issues. Would it be possible for you to post your database with any sensitive data removed?

Received your PM; I understand that you will not be able to post the DB with data since you are tied to an SQL Server backend.

Since the controls don't show up when the form is set to data entry mode but do show up (but cannot be edited) when reviewing, it almost sounds like they are calculated controls. Have you checked for any code in the on current event of the subforms?

What is the control source of the controls in question?

I figured out the problem,, it is all because of the table which is linked to the filed does not have a primary key and atuo number generater. I do not why is that  ,, but anyway it is working fine now ,, thank you jzwp22 for your contribution :)

I'm glad you got it worked out. Sorry I wan't able to provide much help.
