Yesterday when I was working on a report with subforms when I went to save the report on exit I received the message "file sharing lock count exceeded. increase maxlocksperfile registry entry". I clicked OK then I received the error "No Current Record". Once I clicked OK on that error all my reports were gone. I closed the database and opened it again and the reports were back but none of my changes saved. Later on in day I was working with one of the subreports (after saving OK a few times) and I got the same error. This time instead of saving on close I just clicked the save button. The report was still opened so I clicked save again it saved the report OK but when you go into the database window that is the only report that is still there all the other reports disapeared. I've tried closing and reopening but there is still only the subreport.

I've checked on Microsoft for this error but the details they give do not match what happened with my database. There are about 10 tables but only one of them exceeds 100 records and the one that does is only about 250. I also work in about 20 other Access Databases most are bigger then the one I was working in yesterday and this has never happened before.

Can anyone tell me how this happened so I can prevent it from happening again and does anyone know if there is a way to get my reports back?

I'm pretty sure it have nothing to do with the database itself.
Is your database in a shared folder? If it is, and if it has a maximum number of users and the maximum is exceeded while you work, it can do these kind of undesired effects.
Lokk in the sharing options to see what is the maximum number of users for this folder. Try removing the restriction.
What version of Windows does possess you, eh, do you posses? :D

No it is not in a shared folder, it's in a folder on my desktop. And I am using Win XP Office 2003
